Norfolk Stakes Tips: Nine Below Zero

Norfolk Stakes Tips: Nine Below Zero

Quickened off a solid gallop at Windsor, fastest closer by 0.43s and good overall time. Chance might be impacted by draw.

Wednesday’s results on the straight track suggests their is a perceived advantage to running near the stand’s side rail, whether there is a bias or not it can become a self-fulling prophecy. That would be bad news for Nine Below Zero in stall 4, however we have seen the bias switch day to day at this meeting before.

Other than the draw there is plenty to like about Ralph Beckett’s juvenile sprinter. He is unbeaten in two starts and last time out he travelled sweetly when tracking a solid gallop at Windsor. Fran Berry didn’t even need to get serious as the horse quickened away from his rivals, with the fastest sectional in the race by 0.43s.

I gave Nine Below Zero an adjusted speed rating of 91 and he is a potentially smart two-year-old.
