Norfolk Stakes Tip: Silverheels

Won a good Windsor maiden despite running very green. Has bags of potential and beat some juveniles from powerful yards.

With most of the juvenile races the American trained horses of Wes Ward have been setting the pace. All of them have been sitting ducks for the home challenge and Everyday Dave could set it up for high drawn horses in the Norfolk.

Silverheels created a big impression when winning a good Windsor maiden at the start of the season. Despite running green, when he eventually got the hang of things he powered clear to win by three lengths. The last two winners of the race went on to taste Group success, which augers well.

Trainer Paul Cole is quoted as saying that a 73 day lay-off was longer than he would have liked after the horse scoped dirty. If he is over his minor problems, and he would not be racing if he weren’t, then he is a live candidate at 15/2.
