Beat the useful Arousing at Windsor (well clear of third horse) despite not getting the easiest of trips. Strong traveller who should cope with step back in trip.
I thought it would take a very good horse to beat Arousing at Windsor, and Boomshalaa did just that carrying 5lbs more. Roger Varian’s colt is now 2-2 this season and has been visually impressive on both occasions.
His win at Windsor was accompanied by a decent speed figure (despite difficult trip) and there’s still much more to come. He drops back to 5f for the first time but he should get a good strong pace to aim at, whilst also not being short of speed. A handicap mark of 93 makes him competitive.
