There is plenty in Kasbah’s favour but he will arrive slightly under the radar because of his sixth place finish last time. A wide draw isn’t necessarily a disaster at Lingfield but when combined with a steady early gallop it can be problematic.

That is what happened to Kasbah. Held up behind a steady early gallop, the leaders didn’t come back to him despite an eye-wateringly quick 21.16s closing sectional. That is amongst the quickest ever recorded at the track but the fast track/tailwind contributed to quick times throughout the card. Nevertheless, in relative terms it was the quickest in the race and he can be rated unlucky.

Over a longer trip, he can make that turn of foot pay.
