Ripon Tip: Sandra's Secret
Two-time course and distance winner who put in pleasing reappearance at Pontefract;.showed bright early speed before fading but should come on for the run. Has ideal conditions and a good draw.
Sandra’s Secret has won both her last two starts over course and distance and she has conditions in her favour today. This progressive mare is now 5/11 over 6f and is 5/14 on going rated good to firm. She also has the draw in her favour. Two of the last five winners of this race came from stall 1 and being on the wings (very high or low) is often the place to be in these big field sprints at Ripon.
Last time out she finished a fair fourth at Pontefract, she set an overly strong pace over 5f and faded at the finish, probably not helped by it being her first start in 296 days. That run should have blown away the cobwebs but we also saw enough to say she retains the ability that saw her place in a Listed contest last year.
