Richmond Stakes Tip: Shine So Bright

Finished a highly respectable fifth in the Coventry, the strongest juvenile race at the Royal meeting. S;lightly overpriced giving the form-line through Advertise.

The best juvenile race at Royal Ascot was the Coventry, taken by the mightily impressive Calyx but defeat to the Gosden beast is still good form, with several finishers down the field running well next time out.

Shine So Bright finished fifth in the race, losing a couple of places in the final furlong after trying to make a race of it. Ridden with a bit more restraint he would have ultimately finished closer to Calyx (but never winning) therefore his efforts deserve an upgrade.

The runner-up, Advertise has since franked the form by winning the July Stakes and that creates a solid form line between Shine So Bright, Konchek and Charming Kid. Andrew Balding’s new colt shouldn’t be the biggest price of the three and there is some value to be had.
