Punchestown Tips: Jezki

Everything went the way of Champagne Fever at the Festival but that is unlikely to happen again.

The markets can’t split the top-two in the 4.20 Punchestown but I think Jezki can exact revenge on Champagne Fever this afternoon.

The pair finished first and third in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham but I can’t help thinking Champagne Fever got the breaks that day. Ruby Walsh was allowed a soft lead and dictated the race. It was a fine front-running ride, but his rival jockeys should be wise to the idea now.

Two of Jezki’s three career defeats have come at Cheltenham and I’m not convinced the track brings out the best in him. Nevertheless, he was only beaten by 2.75 lengths and would have been even closer if he hadn’t clattered the final hurdle.

In what looks a two horse race, there are more positives for Jezki at 7/4 plus with BetVictor’s cash back offer, if he finishes second to Champagne Fever we get our money back.
