Pontefract: Corinthia Knight
Put in a huge front running effort, when narrow beaten over course and distance 16 days ago. Is better drawn and carries a lighter weight, albeit in a strong race.
Most of Corinthia Knight’s winning exploits have come over the minimum trip however, he has also scored over 6f and ran a huge race over course and distance 16 days ago. From a wide draw, Hollie Doyle managed to get him into a share of the lead with Lezardrieux but unfortunately they went a stride too quick and Corinthia Knight was overhauled in the last 100 yards.
Given the strong pace (Lezardrieux finished 5.25 lengths further back), the defeat deserves upgrading especially given the 6-year-old was carrying 10 stone on his back. This is a better race but he carries less weight and also has a favourable draw in stall 3. I suspect Hollie Doyle will employ similar tactics but this time the pair might last home.
