Nottingham: Empress Sheba
Travelled well for a long way on her comeback at Thirsk but didn't get a clear run at a crucial stage. Ran really well over course and distance last year, finished second when again unlucky.
Empress Sheba finished 11th on her reappearance at Thirsk but she was only beaten 4.25 lengths and we unlucky in the run. After a slow start, she was put in the race and still travelling strongly whilst everything else came off the bridle. Unfortunately she had a wall of horses in-front and Mark Winn didn’t get the gap until too late.
It was a promising comeback and now we return to the venue where she ran a career best to finish second behind Desert last season. Again she was unlucky in-running and perhaps deserved to win.
Empress Sheba has flashed ability and shouldn’t be such a big price.
