Newmarket Tips: Mostahel
Returned to sprinter and impressed at Wolverhampton with a fast sectional and quick overall time.
Victory Angel is all the rage for the 4.10 Newmarket after his time compared favourably to that of Brando in the Abernant 16 days ago. However, it should be noted he was carrying 17lbs less and he’s been severely dealt with by the handicapper.
Mostahel has less eye-catching form in the book, two defeats on turf and an ordinary maiden win at Wolverhampton but that doesn’t give him the credit he deserves.
Previously tried over a mile, he relished the return to sprinting at Wolverhampton and showed bags of speed. Quickening off a solid gallop, he covered the final 2f in a rapid 22.96s earning an adjusted speed rating of 94.
The handicapper has given an opening mark of 93 and although he might not appear to have much in hand, he is improving.
