Has fallen to a competitive handicap mark and was not beaten far in a class 4 handicap over course and distance this time last year.
One More Dream hacked up over course and distance a week and given the market support it wasn’t unexpected. The manner of his victory suggests he could score again but this time he is a fraction of the price and has stall 1 to contend with. I think we accept we missed the boat.
In opposition Macho Pride looks a big danger from a high draw. He’s tumbled down the handicap and didn’t do much wrong when just touched off at Ripon last time. The switch to the all-weather is not a concern and it is interesting to note he was only beaten 3 lengths in a class 4 handicap over course and distance almost exactly a year ago. He didn’t get a clear run that day but any sort of repeat would make him hard to beat.
