Clocked the fastest closing sectional on his debut at Thirsk. Speed rating of race suggests it was a fair novice stakes and likely he will come on plenty for the run.
Elymas is a well-bred colt but wasn’t fancied to do much on debut having been sent off at 33/1. He therefore ran above expectations to finish sixth, only beaten 2.75 lengths. The winner returned at 125/1 but proved it was no fluke by winning again, therefore the form might be better than it looks at first glance.
Drawn in stall 1, Jack Garritty steadied his mound out of the stalls to get some cover, unfortunately they went an even gallop but his modest headway was good under the circumstances. Elymas clocked the fastest closing sectional, which suggests there is plenty more to come on his second start.
