Mountain Rescue logged a career best effort on his 20th starts last time out at Newmarket and it seems the drop to 7f could be the making of him. His record at the trip is now 221 having been previously campaigned over 8f+.
The stamina needed for middle-distance trips is his edge. Last time out he tracked a strong pace over 7f but had plenty left in reserve to fight off the closers. Not short of speed either, he seems to have the ideal make-up for 7f.
Last time out he earned an adjusted speed rating of 94 and Newbury’s galloping track should bring the best out of him again. An official rating of 91 isn’t insurmountable and he can win a nice pot.
