Musselburgh Tips: Thomas Cranmer

Musselburgh Tips: Thomas Cranmer

Fall at Chester last season halted his progress but remains unexposed. Course and distance winner last time.

Mark Johnston has a terrific 20% strike-rate at Musselburgh and with Joe Fanning aboard the pair can team up for another win in the 7.40 contest.

The horse under their charge is Thomas Cranmer, who tasted success over course and distance at the start of the month. He’s up in grade as a result but this is a talented horse.

Last season’s progress was halted by a fall at Chester and he subsequently didn’t handle the kickback at Southwell on his first start of 2017 but his win at Musselburgh showed he remains on an upwards curve.

He dictated matters from the front (expect the same again) and showed a likeable attitude when Atteq challenged him for the lead. He battled and quickened like a good horse and under ideal conditions can win again.
