Market Rasen Tips: Mirage Dore

Made an encouraging comeback at Kelso. The trip combined with a strong pace should be idea for the former useful hurdler.

Lightly raced in recent years Mirage Dore offered plenty of encouragement on his comeback at Kelso. At 11/2 (Boylesports) he looks the best bet in the 2.20 at Market Rasen.

A very useful hurdler, he finished second in the 2009 Coral Cup at Cheltenham, but has never quite fulfilled his potential over fences. The one bright spot did come over course and distance and a return to Market Rasen augers well.

The trip is crucial for this horse. His chasing record when racing 2m6f or further is: 123 compared to 647634 when racing over shorter. He was always best coming off a strong pace over hurdles and it is only logical he needs a proper test over fences.

With the likes of North Island, Mud Monkey, Le Burf and Daldini in the race, all confirmed front-runners; we should get a decent pace playing into the hands of Wilson Renwick and Mirage Dore.
