Longchamp Tips: Yellow And Green

Showed an excellent turn of foot in the Prix Vermeille, staying on from a hopeless position. Much better drawn today.

The first thing to realise when discussing the Prix De L’Arc De Triomphe (3.25 Longchamp) is how much the draw influences the result. In the last 10 years, only Dalakhani has won from a double-digit draw.

This seriously compromises Orfevre’s chances in stall 18, despite him carrying the strongest form into the race. Camelot is well berthed in stall 5, but he’s short in the betting considering his disappointing defeat in the St Leger.

With doubts over horses at the top of the market I’m drawn towards Yellow And Green at 16/1 (Paddy Power).

She enjoyed a good summer break, saved with this meeting in mind, and was an eye-catching fourth in her prep race, the Prix Vermeille.

From a poor draw she was forced to sit and suffer at the back of the pack, not able to get a clear run until the winner had already flown. Despite the unfortunate circumstance she displayed a scintillating turn of foot to make up several lengths on the leaders.

She is clearly a smart middle-distance filly and from stall 5 she could at the very least place. At 16/1 (Paddy Power) with ¼ odds for a top-4 finish, she is a good value each-way bet, with a huge upside if she wins.
