Lingfield Tip: Zac Brown
Has a 10lbs pull with Merhoob for a 3.25 lengths defeat. A combination of weight and recent wind surgery might help turn the tables and he's won in the grade before.
There are some old horses with testing handicap marks in the 3.05 but Zac Brown might be one of the few to defy his current rating. A previous winner in this grade, he’s not been at his best this winter and has 3.25 lengths to find with Merhoob. In his favour he is 10lbs better off than when they last met and a different pace scenario might allow Zac Brown to steal the race from the front.
Zac Brown returns after a second wind-surgery in under a year but it’s a risk worth taking because there is potential upside not factored into his price. He is a previous course and distance winner, has a good draw and is John Egan’s only ride of the day.
