Lingfield Tip: Duke Cosimo
Handicapper has given him a chance off a mark of 66 and returns to his optimal 6f after racing over the minimum trip last time.
The 4.10 Lingfield is a competitive race despite being a moderate grade and plenty can be given chances in this big field. There are several last time out winners but I prefer the less obvious selection of Duke Cosimo.
His mark has tumbled since hitting a peak of 83 just over a year ago and eventually he will find a level where he can win again. Last time out he finished 7/8 at Newcastle but he was only beaten 3.5 lengths, in a decent time for the grade, over an inadequate 5f.
He’s not had many opportunities over 6f this winter and is therefore underrated by the market.
