Lingfield Tip: Count Otto

Never managed to get involved from rear in a race that degenerated into a 2f sprint. His 21.44s closing sectional was still the fastest in a losing cause.

Count Otto is a two-time course and distance winner and on both occasions he raced off a higher mark. The handicapper has given him a chance to win and he’s shown enough to suggest he can capitalise on the opportunity.

Last time out he was undone by the pedestrian early gallop. He was 3.2 lengths in arrears with two furlongs to go and despite a blistering 21.44s closing sectional he only closed the gap to two lengths. Quickening into an accelerating pace meant he wasn’t visually impressive but he ran well nevertheless.

All Count Otto’s best form has come in small fields over 6f and he has conditions to suit.
