Lingfield Tip: Bernie's Boy
14lbs lower than when he finished the last all-weather season in March. Runs well over 6f and creditable fifth in a good time (for the grade) on his last outing at Chelmsford.
Last winter I backed Bernie’s Boy on numerous occasions on the all-weather and having finished the season ratings 70, he looks thrown in off a mark of 56.
He ran perfectly well at Chelmsford last month, finishing a close fifth in a good time, from a moderate draw and these are ideal conditions. When racing in class 6 company, on the all-weather over six furlongs, his record is 22031285 with his best performances coming away from Essex.
His overall profile is better than this level and there are enough positives to suggest he retains ability.
