Lingfield Tip: Bernie's Boy

Race wasn't run to suit. Wide draw, steadied and limited headway into quickening pace. However, a 21.79s sectional was impressive and down in grade for this contest.

Bernie’s Boy is down in trip and down in grade for the 12.35 Lingfield but it all makes sense. His record on the all-weather is 5/22 and although he has a high mark still he can now sneak into class 5 handicaps and that might be the difference.

Last time out nothing went his way. He was held-up from a wide draw and could never get into the race as the steady pace forced him to accelerate into a quickening pace, with limited headway. Nevertheless his closing sectional of 21.79s was impressive and a strongly run 5f race could be the key; with the option also there for him to make the running like he did when winning back in January.

The jockey of Grace McEntee is an unknown but perhaps this is an early Christmas present to the family. At the odds we can take the chance.
