Lingfield: Lockdown
Last season he won second time out after a break and the pattern might repeat. Travelling well with 2f to go at Kempton but strong pace and extra furlong saw him lose places at the finish.
Lockdown is a really interesting runner for the in-form George Baker. A talented juvenile for Hugo Palmer, he lost his way but after a couple of changes in yard he eventually regained the winning thread at Kempton last summer.
At his best he’s got some good speed ratings to his name, predicting when this will occur is harder. Last time out he returned from a 168-day break and was still travelling strongly 2-out. Eventually the strong pace and seventh furlong told and he lost numerous places at the finish. Nevertheless it was a good performance and he ready him for Lingfiled, his last win was also his second start after a break.
