Lingfield: Crimson Sand
Hampered out gates last time but still finished second; his 3f sectional was almost a second quicker than anything else. Is 2/2 at Lingfield and back to 6f, which looks his best trip.
Crimson Sand is 2/2 at Lingfield and there is a good chance he maintains his 100% record. He won over course and distance early into his 3-year-old career with an adjusted speed rating of 82. It was mightily impressive and the sort of figure that makes him competitive in this grade; as a bonus he’s a year older now!
Last time out he was a luckless second over an inadequate 5f at Chelmsford. Hampered out the gates, he was forced to close from the rear in a race run at an even gallop. To his credit he almost got up, covering the final 3f almost a second quicker than anything else in the race.
Granted normal luck and back at his favourite trip and track, he looks a great bet in what is admittedly a hot race.
