Leicester Tip: Swift Approval

Twice a winner this season but still below highest winning mark. Has run two big speed ratings in succession; with winning effort at Sandown where he was fastest closer by almost a second.

The market for the 4.55 Leicester is shaped by Six Strings at even money but he is readily opposable. His victory at Catterick was his first in almost three years and it was largely down to a fine pace-judged ride by Ali Rawlinson.

In opposition I want Swift Approval on my side, especially given the two big speed ratings he’s run on his last two starts. At Sandown he came from a long way off the pace (gallop was solid but not breakneck) covering the final 4f almost a second quicker than any of his rivals. He couldn’t quite repeat the trick at Epsom but he’s not handicapped out of matters having won off 91 twice previously.

Seven furlongs is his trip, he has a good strike rate 10-62 and should be several points shorter in the betting.
