Earned a sectional adjusted speed rating of 65, coming from rear in steadily run contest at Yarmouth last time out. Has a workable handicap mark and is a filly with scope.
Red Joan has taken a walk in the market for the 5.55 Leicester but she still warrants interest on her handicap debut. All of her three starts to date have come in good maidens and the most recent at Yarmouth looks above average.
Slowly into stride, she raced awkwardly for the first 3f before knuckling down to finish fourth. She was the second fastest closer and earned an adjusted speed rating of 65 despite not being hard ridden.
A mark of 71 is very reasonable and she is a filly with plenty of scope. She should might prove better than she has shown.
