Lay of the Day: Russian Bullet

Russian Bullet dominated a small field to win over 5f but beating 12 rivals over 6f is a completely different proposition.

Russian Bullet put in a career best performance to win at Brighton on his last start but he prevailed by the slenderest of margins. Having made all over 5f in a six-runner race he faces a completely different set of circumstances in the 3.45 Brighton.

Dominating a small field is one thing, but controlling a race with 13 runners is a much harder challenge. Even if Racheal Kneller managers to dictate the pace, she still has an extra 154 yards to last out.

The way Russian Bullet’s tank was emptying over 5f, a combination of the extra distance and pressure for the lead will count against him.
