Latest Guineas Betting: Wootton Bassett Out
With Wootton Bassett ruled out of the classic it is not a case of if, but how much Frankel wins by.
Ante post favourite Frankel is no bigger than 4/7 to win the 2000 Guineas after Wootton Bassett was scratched from the race. Richard Fahey’s unbeaten colt had been trading at 16/1 before his trainer admitted he had run out of time for the classic. A minor injury sustained in January had set back his preparations by three weeks and he will be aimed at the French or Irish Guineas instead.
Following on the back of the withdrawal of Dubai Prince, the betting suggests the 2000 Guineas is a one horse race. The betting is so lopsided that William Hill have opened a market on Frankel’s winning margin. It is 7/1 that he wins by five lengths or more.
