Kempton Tip: Mazzini

Mazzini enjoyed a productive 2017 on the all-weather, winning in fine style at Chelmsford in July and placing on four further occasions. Unfortunately he tailed off in November but there were extenuating circumstances.

His 5 length defeat by Double Up was largely down to his terrible draw. From stall 12 of 12 he was posted four wide around the bend and although there is no data, visually he must have covered more ground than anything else in the race. It was therefore a decent effort to still run the fifth fastest closing sectional.

He is 2lbs lower on his return to Kempton and has a better draw. He needs a career best but is well capable of running to a mark in the 100s.
