Kempton Tip: Deep Intrigue
Lightly raced but has strong form to go with potential. Pulled clear at Beverley with future Coventry fourth Vange and returned from break to win in a good time at Chelmsford.
Deep Intrigue has a bit to find on the ratings to win the 4.20 Kempton but he’s unexposed and better than a 90-horse. Last time out he won a three-horse race and although that doesn’t provide much substance the time was decent and I liked the way he quickened away from the odds-on favourite when challenge in the home-straight.
That was achieved by carrying a penalty from his Beverley win and that form looks strong. He pulled clear from the pack with Vange who franked the form by finishing fourth in the Coventry.
It’s hard to judge Deep Intrigue purely on his novices form but he’s run two good times in a row and hails from a strong yard. He should make a bold big to win this fast-track qualifier.
