Kempton Tip: Becker
Often slowly out of the gates but there should be pace to aim at. Ran well on reappearance, with good closing sectional over 6f. At his best at the minimum trip and should win again soon.
Becker’s not had much luck of late but is due a change of fortune and might need it from stall 7. He’s a big strapping horse but not the quickest out the gates and given his running style needs a decent pace to aim at, especially around a sharp 5f like Kempton’s.
Looking through the field there should be a good gallop and a repeat of his second behind Spirit Power back at this venue in Janauray would see him collect. He ran a fast closing sectional that day and earned a big overall speed rating.
Last seen six days ago at Lingfield, he again showed a good finishing kick this time over 6f not his ideal trip and again from a wide draw. If Oisin Murphy can ride him with confidence - and what better than a classic winning jockey, that should get him home in-front.
