Kempton: Bethersden Boy

Started handicapping off a mark of 83 and down to 69. Arrested the slide with a close fourth at Lingfield and reverts to sprinting for first time since his juvenile days; which were his best.

Bethersden Boy started handicapping off a mark of 83 and has plummeted to a mark of 69. He arrested the slide with a close fourth at Lingfield when he perhaps was too close to a strong early gallop which left him vulnerable in the straight. That was over 7f and he reverts back to sprinting for the first time this season.

Arguably, Bethersden Boy’s best form came as a juvenile over sprint trips therefore this drop to 6f is perhaps long overdue. Throw in first time cheek-pieces and some vulnerable horses near the front of the market and he rates a good bet.
