Kempes halved for Gold Cup
Kempes was the main mover in the Cheltenham ante-post markets after his win at Leopardstown.
Kempes has halved in price and is now 16/1 for the Cheltenham Gold Cup after his win in the Hennessy at the weekend. The Willie Mullins eight year old handled the testing conditions better than expected and galloped all the way to the line to record a four and a half length success. His trainer stated that the Gold Cup was the obvious target after the Leopardstown success and he is now sixth in the betting for the Cheltenham showpiece.
The Arkle betting remains largely unchanged after Finians Rainbow took his chasing record to 3-3 by winning the Kingmaker at Warwick. The Nicky Henderson novice wasn’t fluent at his fences but showed his winning mentality to score by eleven lengths. He remains a 9/2 shot with Bet365 for the Arkle at Cheltenham.
