Kauto Star Rated '50-50’ For Gold Cup
Paul Nicholls has revealed that Kauto Star took a fall whilst schooling and is a doubt for Cheltenham.
Kauto Star is out to 9/2 (BetVictor) for the Cheltenham Gold Cup after Paul Nicholls revealed that he fell whilst schooling under Ruby Walsh last week.
“There is no easy way to say this, but Kauto Star is only 50-50 to make the Cheltenham Gold Cup after a fall schooling,” wrote Nicholls in his Betfair column.
Long Run is now a best price 13/8 (Stan James) for the Gold Cup having been 9/4 before the news broke. Kauto Star has proven he is not a horse to write off but with only 15 days to go he faces a race against time to be fit for Cheltenham.
