Hever Sprint Tip: Silaah

Silaah Hever Stakes

On of the most improved performers this AW season. He can make all and finish on high.

It is disappointing to see last that year’s winner Arganil is absent, as he would have been a shoe in for the 2.00 at Lingfield. A decent field has lined up for this five furlong Listed contest, although the majority are used to running over six.

Trying to find a specialist at the distance is difficult in this field and only one stands out – Silaah. Having started the winter in claimers, this seven year old is a rag to riches tail; as he spent the last few weeks in Dubai.

At seven years old it is hard to explain the rapid improvement, being lightly raced and in the care of ‘sprint king’ Dandy Nicholls must have something to do with it.

Drawn low, this prominent runner should be able to bag the rail. Crucial to his style of running is that he is left on his own upfront. If that happens then expect Dane O’Neill to kick off the bend and set sail for home.

Proven over six furlongs he should have the stamina to see off the closers and with no other speed balls in the field he could win it making all.
