Hereford Racing Tips: Western Whisky

Both his wins have come when wearing blinkers. After three runs without them, it is a positive sign the trainer reaches for the headgear again.

Western Whisky can make a winning return to action in the 3.10 at Hereford. Two years ago he won a valuable class three chase at Ludlow and if he is anywhere near that form he can win again.

Although he is not a horse to get carried away with - his overall strike rate is moderate - both his wins have come when wearing blinkers. Richard Lee reaches for the headgear for the first time in four outings and it should sharpen up his attitude.

Western Whisky’s chasing record:

2 wins from 8 runs when wearing blinkers
0 wins from 9 runs not in blinkers

The three-mile trip brings the best out of this horse, who was unlucky to lose in a similar event at Plumpton in February. The yard have started the season well and he looks over priced at 7/2 with Boylesports in a weak looking contest.
