Guineas Market Movers

Native Khan

Native Khan has been cut for the 2000 Guineas after his win in the Craven Stakes. The fillies’ classic is wide open after the Nell Gwyn looked a substandard renewal.

Native Khan was the comfortable winner of the Craven Stakes at Newmarket, justifying his recent support in the 2000 Guineas ante post market. A 33/1 chance in the morning, Ed Dunlop’s charge is best odds of 16/1 to pick up the first classic of the season. Odds on favourite Frankel still stands in his way and Dunlop has mooted the horse might go for the French 2000 Guineas instead.

The fillies’ trial, the Nell Gwyn, is unlikely to have thrown up any classic contenders. The top three finished in a heap, suggesting none of them is outstanding. The winner Barefoot Lady does not have an entry into the 1000 Guineas so would need to be supplemented, Skybet make her a 25/1 chance for the race. Runner up Sing Softly remains unchanged at 25/1 and you would expect Aidan O’Brien has better prospects for the race.
