Grand National Tips: Thunder And Roses

Grand National Tips: Thunder And Roses

Beat last year’s winner Rule The World in the 2015 Irish National. Moved to same owner/trainer combination at start of season.

Representing last year’s winning owner and trainer, Thunder And Roses would be an ironic winner of the Grand National.  His owner, Michael O’Leary threw his toys out of the pram when the National weights were released, removing a trio of top-rated contenders.

Despite the show of defiance, the Ryanair boss is a canny operator and is still well represented in the race, probably with the horses he thought had the best chance of winning. Thunder And Roses hasn’t won since April 2015 but that was the Irish Grand National beating none other than Rule The World.

That proves his credentials but he also has some good form to his name this season. He was only beaten half a length by Pleasant Company in the Bobbyjo Chase a renowned National trial, with the pair pulling 50-lengths clear of the third horse.
