Grand National Tips: Just A Par
Winner and runner-up in the Bet365 Gold Cup and at his best at this time of year. Warmed up with a win at Newbury last month.
With it being Masters week Just A Par will be the selection of many golf enthusiasts but he is not just a copywriter’s dream, he travels to Aintree with a genuine chance of winning.
The 10-year-old was well beaten in last year’s Grand National finishing 15th but Paul Nicholls has since been quoted that he wished he hadn’t run him.
He’s a horse with a bit of class, he finished second in last year’s Bet365 Gold Cup, only a fortnight after his Aintree flop and won the race in 2015. At his best in the spring, he equalled his career best on ratings (RPR 150) at Newbury last month.
Paul Nicholls has his string in fine form and won this race in 2012 with Neptune Collonges. Just A Par is a decent stayer, at his best this time of year, who looks fairly treated off a mark of 146.
Back him at 50/1 with William Hill and get 1/4 odds for a top-5 finish.
