Goodwood: Treacherous

Prolific on all-weather but now won last two on turf including over course and distance. Still plenty of headroom in his mark; 7lbs higher on all-weather and capable of running big speed figures.

I can see why Rewaayat is favourite in the Stewards’ Consolation Race, I tipped him last time when he was a wide margin winner at Salisbury in a good time but at twice the price I prefer the claims of Treacherous.

The 6-year-old has already matched the time figure of Rewaayat, albeit on the all-weather and is now transferring his form to grass. Winner of his last two turf starts, he is still 7lbs below his all-weather mark and still unexposed on the surface. A further positive is he won over course and distance in June and his low draw could be advantageous if North Wind gives them a tow into the race.

A winner of 10/29 starts he knows where the winning line is and looks a cracking bet.
