Goodwood Tips: Apollo D’Negro

Apollo D’Negro has hardly put a hoof wrong this season and looks overdue a win in the 5.15 Goodwood.

There is an abundance of pace that should suit his hold-up style of racing and in stall two he is ideally drawn to come down the centre of the track, often the best position at Goodwood.

On his last start, he finished a close fourth in a higher grade. He was slightly unlucky in the last 100 yards as he was carried across the track by a rival hanging left. It didn’t cost him victory but he would have got closer than his one-length defeat. He looks a solid betting proposition and is overpriced at 7/1 (Betfred).
