Glorious Goodwood – Day 3

Glorious Goodwood Day Three

We bring you all the latest market movers from the Sussex Downs on day three of Glorious Goodwood. Updated through the day.

Most of the talk on the Sussex track will be about the magnificent performance of Frankel. Rightly so, moments of greatness can be fleeting in the sport and must be cherished.

The official going is described as ‘good’ for the third day running. Times from yesterday’s racing reflects this and there shouldn’t be any excuses.

The two extremes in distances take stage today, with the five furlong King George Stakes at 2.45 and the two mile Goodwood Cup at 3.15.

9.55 UPDATE: The markets are starting to take shape with several early movers. In the 2.15, Sagramor is a non-runner, with the runners at the top of the market contracting in price as a result. Fulgur is joint favourite with Labarinto at 9/2.

There is money for Overturn in the Goodwood Cup.  The 18/1 is gone, with several firms now going 12/1. Bet365 stick there neck out and offer market-leading odds of 16/1.

11.08 UPDATE: Labarinto has been backed into favouritism at 9/2 for the first race. An unlucky third behind Fulgur at Newmarket he is fancied to turn around the form.

Tackling Group company for the first time in his career Noble Storm is 9/2 favourite for the 2.45. With several other front-runners in the field he could be vulnerable if getting into a speed duel.

Out tipster’s pick Breathless Kiss has been backed for the race, with only Stan James offering the advised 50/1.

12.34 UPDATE: It is a lively betting day at Goodwood with plenty of horses being backed. Wild Coco is one of the best in the 3.45. Potentially a smarty filly she is 13/8 in from 15/8.

In the Goodwood Cup, Overturn is well supported and no bigger than 12/1.
