Frankel Shapes Up For Guineas

Frankel

The long awaited return of Frankel went to plan as the most hyped horse of the winter once again proved his classic credentials.

It was the highly anticipated return of Frankel this weekend and he did not disappoint. Winner of the Dewhurst and unbeaten as a two-year old, he was a comfortable winner of the Greenham Stakes at Newbury. Sent to win the race three furlongs out, he quickened clear to win by four lengths. The Henry Cecil colt is now a best price 4/6 to win the 2,000 Guineas having been 10/11 before the weekend.

In the Epsom Derby betting Frankel remains unchanged as 4/1 ante post favourite. With a mixed pedigree of both stamina and speed, it is still uncertain if he will stay the mile and a half trip.

It was a good day for Henry Cecil as connections now have the top two in the Derby betting. World Domination’s win later on the card saw him cut to 8/1, from 20/1, for the Epsom classic after a four-length victory in a hot maiden race.
