Folkestone Tips: Scarlet Rocks

Winner last time on turf and races off a 3lbs lower mark. Well drawn at a track with a strong bias.

The 3.40 Folkestone is a classic early season turf sprint that is almost entirely populated by all-weather horses. Only Drawnfromthepast, Triple Dream and Scarlet Rocks have competitive records on turf.

Of the three, Scarlet Rocks will be suited the most by a return to grass. On her last turf start she won by 2.75 lengths and in a quick time. Amazingly she gets to race today off a 3lbs lower mark.

Starting from stall 7 she also has a good draw, Folkestone traditionally has a bias favouring horses drawn high. Cathy Gannon should get a nice tow from Triple Dream and she can make her way up the stand’s rail to win at 17/2 with William Hill.
