Folkestone Tip: Fawley Green

A drop back in trip and change in tactics could see him break his duck.

After the excitement of the weekend we are back to more humdrum matters in the 3.00 at Folkestone. But the odds still pay out the same whatever the standard of horses.

Fawley Green is a maiden after 22 races. Usually the sign of an ungenuine horse, I don’t think that is the case here. Only a four year old, he has been hamstrung by a ludicrously high rating he was assigned as a juvenile. Starting his handicapping career off 75, it has taken him almost two years to drop 15lbs. I don’t think there is anything wrong with the horse, he has just been forced to race at a level too difficult for him.

Finally dropped to claiming level, he has found a race for his ability. After being tried at a variety of distances his best performances have been when racing prominently over six furlongs. He has those conditions today and should make most from his high draw.
