Folkestone Racing Tip: Liberty Lady

Liberty Lady

Finished surrounded by horses rated 25lbs higher - looks well handicapped on that performance.

The 3.30 at Folkestone is a small but competitive race. With only seven runners you can quite quickly narrow the field down. Magical Speedfit and Black Baccara are poorly drawn and infrequent winners. Diamond Johnny G and Grudge are not up to winning in this grade and Waabel is better over further.

That leaves us with Rocker and Liberty Lady. The former has attracted support due to the Gary Moore / Ryan Moore combination. Father and son team up to good effect but are not worth following blindly. In the last two years Rocker has won only twice in 26 outings. He seems marooned off a mark in the mid-70s and does not strike me as a worthy second favourite.

By process of elimination we are left with Liberty Lady. Better over five furlongs, you can forgive her last run. Go back before that and she finished fifth beating horses rated over 100. She may have been flattered by bagging the stands rail and running on past beaten horses but it was a good performance. Surprisingly the handicapper has not altered her mark after that run. If she reproduces that level of form, she will be hard to beat.
