Ffos Las Tips: Nonios
Makes handicap debut off a mark off 75 but speed ratings suggest he is capable of much better.
Nonios makes his handicap debut in the 6.30 Ffos Las and he’s been given a real chance to open his account with a mark of 75.
He first showed his hand when giving Fallen For A Star (sent off at 2/5) a fright at Wolverhampton back in December. Held up in rear, he actually ran the fastest closing sectional, faster than the winner who is now rated 91.
Every time he’s stepped up in trip he’s got better and ran another fine race at Windsor over 10f, finishing third in a decent time carrying 10st. This evening he goes up in distance again but 12f could prove his optimal trip.
On my speed ratings Nonios is a low-80s horse with plenty of upside and is well-handicapped off 75.
