Duke Of York Tip: Tupi

Duke Of York Tip: Tupi

Might be just below top-class but impressive winner of the Cammidge and will handle conditions.

Another tricky day’s racing is complicated by the (un)welcome addition of rain and for the first time in a while we have the word ‘soft’ appearing in going reports.

That shouldn’t inconvenience Tupi who has won on a variety of ground including good to soft last time at Doncaster.

The 5-year-old has been tried over a variety of trips but he’s unexposed at 6f and sprinting could be his forte. He was mightily impressive in the Cammidge Trophy winning by 4 lengths and clocked the fastest closing sectional by 0.66s.

When adjusting for pace I gave him an adjusted speed rating of 105. That is about 5lbs short of Group 1 standard but he doesn’t need to improve much and is a big price.

1pt Tupi to win 14/1 with William Hill
