Doncaster: Wholeofthemoon

I’m not normally drawn to middle distance races but I was a Kempton the day Wholeofthemoon finished second to Aldous Huxley and I was impressed by the pair. Aldous Huxley went on to finish second to New London at Newmarket in what amounted to an early Derby trial; the form is therefore very strong.

Wholeofthemoon was the only horse to give Aldous Huxley any sort of race and although well beaten he was still 5.5 lengths ahead of the third horse and with a decent speed rating to boot. An opening handicap mark of 75 looks on the generous side and having run well on turf as a 2-year-old he should lose his maiden tag this evening.
