Doncaster: Fools Rush In
Draw went against him at Chester last time but winner start before that. Handles soft conditions and versatile in terms of tactics. Still some headroom in his handicap mark.
Fools Rush In has been plying his trade around Chester of late but the results don’t tell half the story. Last time out he finished 9th and well beaten but from a wide draw he was forced to raced 7-wide for much of the contest; you can forget that run.
Previously he had won at Chester, this time waiting in rear from a wide draw and staying on well in a race where the pace collapsed. Both runs show that luck and/or race tactics make a big difference to outcomes.
The positives are that Fools Rush In is in better form than might appear, he also handles cut and can make the running as when a close second at Haydock in July. He races off a reasonable mark and Harry Davies takes off a useful 3lbs whilst also knowing the horse well.
