Saves his best for the autumn where he gets the cut in the ground he needs. 'Won' his last two races from unfavourable draws and is handicapped to win again.
There is a danger of making too many excuses for Count D’orsay this season, he hasn’t won since September 2020 but spring handicaps are hard to win. His last two starts have seen him ‘win’ his race but beaten overall because of a poor draw.
At his best with cut in the ground, he saves his best performances for the autumn. In 20 starts during September/October he was won 3 times and placed on a further 4 occasions. He is racing off a winnable handicap mark, is in form and has conditions to suit.
